Last updated: April 11, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a Journmate account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account or use the service for any unlawful purpose. You must be at least 13 years old to use Journmate.

3. Your Content

You own all content you write in Journmate. By using the service, you grant Journmate a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your journal entries, photos, or any other content you create.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Journmate to store illegal content, to attempt to access other users' data, to reverse engineer the service, or to use automated means to access the service without our written permission.

5. Subscription & Payments

Paid plans (Starter, Pro) are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods except where required by law.

6. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before discontinuing the service entirely, giving you time to export your data.

7. AI Coach

The AI Coach feature uses large language models and may produce inaccurate or unhelpful responses. It is not a substitute for professional mental health support. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

8. Limitation of Liability

Journmate is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Significant changes will be communicated via email.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Journmate is registered.
