Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and optional display name. Journal entries, photos, mood data, location data, and weather data you submit are stored securely in your account. Location data is only collected when you explicitly grant permission.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your journal data is used solely to provide the Journmate service to you. If you use the AI Coach feature (Starter/Pro plans), your recent entries are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (hosted on AWS). Journal entry photos are stored in a private storage bucket — only you can access them. We use row-level security policies to ensure your data is never accessible to other users.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database, auth, and storage
• Stripe — payment processing (we never see your card details)
• Anthropic Claude API — AI Coach feature (Starter/Pro only)
• Open-Meteo — weather data (no account required, no tracking)
• Mapbox — map tiles for Atlas view

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Deleted data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can export all your data at any time via Settings → Export.

6. Cookies

We use a single authentication session cookie required for the service to function. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Journmate is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
